As we’re considering a permanent move to Cyprus I thought I’d take a look at some of the facts about the country and was surprised to see how many similarities there are between Cyprus and the UK. I suppose I shouldn’t have been so surprised as it wasn’t that long ago that Cyprus was a British colony. I found the following useful information on the website Guide2Cyprus. For a start they use the same three pin electrical plugs as the UK which will save me having to rewire all my appliances. Apparently the pharmacies there stock all the same brands of medicine as well so health wise There shouldn’t be too much confusion. Interestingly although diving is a major passed time on Cyprus it’s against the law to remove any antiquities you might find during a dive. And if we want to go to church on a Sunday we had best remember that shorts and short sleeved shirts are not appreciated.
