If you are planning to buy and install some track lighting, Ive put together a few frequently asked questions that might help you get started:
- Why are there 3 different track systems available? – Actually there are more than three different types of track lights available, but I think you are referring to the main manufacturers. The reason for this is that this is just how the industry developed – the 3 main manufacturers (Lightolier, Halo and Juno) all started making systems to the own standards and we’ve got stuck with it.
- Is one system better than another? – Nope not really, they all have their strengths and weaknesses and I would never recommend one over another. It all depends on the project.
- Are the systems interchangeable? – No they are not, so it’s important to make sure you choose only accessories from one range.
