When you are buying a watch for someone it is difficult to find the right one. Not necessarily because you don’t know what color or style. It is usually because you don’t know what they will use it for and when they will wear it. Sport watches are very different to dress watches in that they are designed for completely different purposes. Sport watches are made to be durable to have many functions for the user to help them record times and heart rates. Dress watches are made to look elegant and add sparkle to an outfit.
So, is there a watch which will fit both classes? Yes there is, these are stainless steel watches. Stainless steel watches are both durable and stylish and will usually come with various functions that sport watches include. In addition, they are much cheaper than gold dress watches but can look just as good!
Automatic Watches
Did you know that there are watches out there that don’t need batteries? These watches are called automatic or mechanical watches. The way that the work is from a roter at the back of the watch that moves whenever the wearer moves. This pushes on a spring which in turn winds the watch. The only problem with a watch like this is that I it has to be worn in order for it to keep working. You could also put it in one of these automatic winder boxes that move the watch for you, but then you are wasting a lot of energy and that seems to defeat the purpose. Another disadvantage with these watches is that they don’t keep time very well. Whenever people do watch repair on them it can take a long time. They are also very expensive, but are considered to be like a piece of art because they are so well made.
