Travel Rods – Bring Your Fishing Into The Backcountry
Posted by GuestPoster in Outdoors on December 8th, 2011
Fishing is one of the best ways to experience the great outdoors. Not only does it allow you to get away from the cares of the world, but it allows you to relax and enjoy peace and quiet with friends and family. However, one of the worst nightmares of many anglers is preparing for a fishing trip, leaving early, and arriving at your favorite fishing hole only to find that the shores are crowded with casual anglers. This can be very frustrating, and for this reason, many anglers go to great lengths to get away from the crowds and avoid this situation.
If you are planning a fishing trip to some remote backcountry destination, planning the trip becomes very important. Depending on what type of fishing you will be doing and where you will be going, packing the right gear is essential. For this reason, travel rods of either a break apart or collapsible style will become your best friend while in the backcountry. We all know how cumbersome conventional fishing gear can be. It is not easy to travel with bulky fishing rods that don’t collapse or break down. Utilize flyfishing rods that break apart into four or five pieces, or telescopic spinning fishing rods.
Once you have chosen the proper rod, you’ll need to bring along the right reel, flies are lures, and other accessories. Organizing these items and storing them well while traveling can also be quite difficult. There are fly fishing bags that do a great job of storing, organizing, protecting, and even compartmentalizing your gear while you travel. Look into investing in one of these bags.
Make sure that you plan ahead. One of the worst things that can happen on your fishing trip is to arrive at your destination only to find that you have forgotten an integral part of your rig, or that one of your gear items is broken.
