Some Swimming Pool Basics
Posted by admin in Uncategorized on September 30th, 2009
Today I will share some swimming pool maintenance tips that might be useful for any pool owner. People go to the swimming pool for enjoying, relaxing and often, for body fitness.
Regarding maintaining a healthy pool, first of all sanitize your pool with chlorine material. It is available in the market in different shapes like in tablets or sticks. Getting this into the water supply is essential.
You may have seen algae in many swimming pools, how can you remove it? Well for this you need to use algae inhibitor. The method for applying is the same as that of the chlorine but there is also a liquid form.
The next item for your swimming pool maintenance is to change filter pumps after about seven to eight years. You need to install newer models, which are cost effective and efficient too. Otherwise your running cost can rise, causing you losses.
Last but not least is some advice for pools located in earthquake zones. Check for the cracks. These should be handled as soon as they are found as they can become a real problem if ignored.
Swimming Pool Shapes
Posted by admin in Uncategorized on June 12th, 2009
I’m a pretty boring person I guess when it comes to swimming pools. I like the above ground swimming pool models to be round and I prefer swimming in rectangular in-ground models. Is there a good reason for this? Nope. None at all. It is just something I’ve felt since I swam in a kidney shaped hotel pool when I was a kid and found it to be a disappointment.
If you have the resources (money or the ability to do the work on your own), you can choose pretty much any swimming pool shapes that you like and then contact a pool contractor. You will most likely pay a pretty penny to get the more complicated designs installed on your property, but it is a home improvement, and you may get your money back later if you sell the house.
