Recently, designers have been making a lot of new trench coat styles.  Although you have the traditional styles of short or long trenches, there are also now a few different options that women may want to consider.

The first option is the short trench.  This is one that is either cropped or sort of flows out like a cape.  It is great for adding to dresses or leggings or tight jeans.  It allows a woman to cover up, but not cover everything up, so part of her outfit is showing.  The short trench is also easier to carry around since it is not as much material as the long trench.  There is no belt, but since it falls above a woman’s waist, a belt is not necessary.

The next option is the dress coat.  This dress trench is fantastic for women who want to wear an outfit outside and a different outfit inside.  It looks like a dress in that it is tighter at the waist and then flares out dramatically in an A-line or larger cut.  It looks fantastic if it fits right and can serve as an additional outfit, especially when you don’t have anything as nice to wear underneath.  Stars like Katie Holmes have been seen sporting these fantastic dress coats.

These two new styles for women’s trench coats are just the latest in the options that women can find if they are looking for a trench or a new jacket.  There are others, but these are two of the best.
