Woods are normally sturdier, easier to maintain, and more affordable than any other material available.

Woods can be classified to softwoods and hardwoods. Softwoods are woods made from conifers – plants and trees with thin leaves needles that produce cones – and are mostly abundant in the northern sections of the earth. On the other hand, hardwoods are woods that come from angiosperm trees (flowering plants) and are available in any parts of the earth. Hardwoods are tougher and denser in build than most softwoods, except for balsa – flowering plant in the mallow family, Malvaceae – which is a hardwood that is softer than most softwoods. Hardwoods are more expensive but are less frequently used than most softwoods. Some examples of hardwoods include oak, walnut, teak, maple, chestnut, ironwood, birch, and poplar.

Whether one chooses pine bedroom furniture or walnut living room furniture, each type of wood has its advantages and disadvantages. In purchasing the right furniture, it is at all times preferred to explore many available options first, so that a more effective and cost-worthy product is selected.
