Getting Christmas Tree Lights
Posted by in The Great Outdoors, Uncategorized on December 12th, 2009
If you have a nice outdoor tree, then you will want to get outdoor Christmas tree lights to brighten things up a bit. The styles these lights can come in will vary. Because of this, what you get can depend on your preference of what you want your Christmas tree to look like. Not all Christmas lights can be thrown onto trees though. Some lights can get way too hot and can cause a fire if you’re not careful. Before you go and buy the lights for your tree, you will want to plan ahead to make sure you get the right length of lights. You will also want to decide what sort of bulbs to buy as well since you will have different choices to choose from. Either way, these lights can make your home look awesome.
Getting Festive with Holiday Lights

It really doesn’t matter how old you are, it seems that the magic of holiday lights isn’t lost over the years. Whether it’s a simple strand of small, white Christmas lights wrapped around your Christmas tree in your living room or a full on holiday scene installation with inflatable lawn ornaments in your front garden, everyone loves to see the Christmas decorations coming out. And it seems that they come out earlier and earlier each year. Once one house starts putting them up, the next one in the neighborhood doesn’t want to look like some kind of Scrooge, so they put theirs up. And then the next, and the next and so on. It’s great, because it helps to spread the overall holiday spirit throughout an area and gets everyone in the spirit because it’s a kind of community effort. And of course, for the little ones, it signals that Santa Clause is not too far away (even if a month sounds like an eternity to a 5 year old!)
Tis the Season for Outdoor Christmas Lights

Virtually everyone puts up outdoor Christmas lights year after year, not only Christians but the Hindu nation celebrates Devali (festival of lights) and the Jews celebrate Chanukah. As you can see the festival of lights is celebrated by many cultures around the world.
Originally the festival of lights was celebrated by pagans and had no religious connotations attached, it was a celebration for the earth as well the gods and goddesses. Around the sixteenth century it was the Germans who created the Christmas tree and outdoor Christmas lights tradition. It was Martin Luther a protestant who first added lighted candles to a tree.
How this came about that Martin Luther created the outdoor Christmas lights was due to observing the awesome brilliance of the stars shining through the trees. He then decided to create a scene that his family could appreciate as well. He attached candles to an evergreen tree, which he lighted up daily. The tradition followed by the locals and when there was a shortage of trees, they would build pyramid like structures out of wood and these were decorated with green foliage and candles.
