Can Organic Milk Reduce the Risk of Cancer?

In today’s marketplace, organic products are becoming very popular.  Most of society is tired of consuming products that are not healthy for a person.  They are filled with preservatives, chemicals, and pesticides.

Organic milk is a product that is becoming very popular in the grocery stores.  Organic milk is defined as milk that has been provided by the cow.  The cow has not been treated with a bovine growth hormone.  This hormone increases the cow’s milk production.

Another thing that needs to be completed to be considered organic is that the cow cannot have been treated with an antibiotic at all throughout their lifetime. If the cow has been treated with antibiotics then the cow must be placed away from the herd for no less than twelve months or until the antibiotics are out of its system.

To be considered organic milk, the cow must be fed organically grown feed or grasses.  This means that no pesticides could have been used on them for either wedd or insect control. This alone is a major factor that makes the price of organic milk higher.  The cow also must be permitted to graze on grasses and have access to grasses to be considered organic.

Some health benefits to drinking organic milk are evident.  If a person consumes organic milk then it is quite clear that they are not consuming the after effects of pesticides or chemicals. Even though according to USDA Standards, before the milk is sold it cannot have significant levels of hormones or pesticides in it.  A person will be consuming milk that has not had bovine growth hormones added.  BGH as it is known has been linked to increase risk of cancers.  Eliminating that from the milk can only make a person healthier.

Many researchers have found that consuming foods in a more natural approach is healthier for the human body.  Eliminating the added hormones, preservatives, insecticides, and chemicals reduces the risk of the cancers in a person.  Organic milk is better for the body.   Any way to lower the cancer risk in a person is the better way to go.
