Time to Cold Call!

If you’re like a thousand and one other salespeople, then you’re probably thinking that now is not a great time to be cold calling, because the economic environment is so bad and nobody is buying anything.

If you are thinking that way, then think again! It is times like these when you might actually find some of your best prospects! For a start, a lot of your competitors might have that negative attitude, so your prospects might not be recieving a many calls, therefore they could be more receptive.

Secondly, when business is slow, it’s often a good time just to call your prospects to update them what is going on, and to start building relationships for when the market does eventually turn.

Fore example, if you are selling a vitamin or nutritional supplement for health you probably wouldn’t look in a bar. You would have much better luck recruiting at a gym or health club. Think about the type of people you want and then prospect in the areas those people frequent.
