Enjoy a Glass of Fat-Free Apple Juice
Posted by GuestPoster in food on October 10th, 2011
Drinking fresh fruits and vegetable juice can be extremely beneficial to our health in general. We know that there are various vital nutrients that are contained in fresh fruits and vegetables, and such nutrients, vitamins, minerals, enzymes, antioxidants, and the rest can be extracted together with the juice which can benefit the body to the highest level. This is the reason why we are really recommended to invest in the best juicer that we could find and which fits our budget, so that we can enjoy a glass of healthy drink anytime we want.
One of the very best juicers that are available in the market today is the Omega VRT350 HD, a single auger vertical masticating juicer that operates at a low speed rate of 80 RPM, which ensures that the juice that it extracts is healthier and free from heat and oxidation build up. Thus, one can truly enjoy a glass of healthy wonders in lesser time. Most of the Omega VRT350 HD reviews prove that this is an efficient juicer which can juice almost any type of produce, including the leafy greens and wheat grasses, which are difficult to make juice from.
One of the most widely used fruits to make a fresh juice from is apple. This is enriched with several nutrients which are generally beneficial to the body and health. Apples contain a variety of phytochemicals, rutin and catechin — some potent antioxidants that can help reduce the harmful effects of free radicals in the body, and may also prevent the cancer cells from forming. Regular apple consumption can reduce the risks of acquiring lung cancer, as some studies have shown. In addition, the risks of acquiring cardiovascular disease can be reduced with regular consumption of fresh apple juice as well. And the best thing about this is that apples are totally fat-free, thus, we can never worry about gaining extra weight.
Start The Day With An Alkaline Breakfast
Posted by GuestPoster in food on January 9th, 2011
A great way to start the day is to consume an alkaline breakfast. If you are not too sure what this is then if you read this article you will have a much better idea. As you will see, the foods that are suggested for people trying to follow an alkaline diet are pretty obviously healthy. We all know that fruits and vegetables are good for us. But the fact of the matter is that this diet suggests that there are other benefits from eating these kinds of food that we can get that you might not be aware of at the moment. This is what we shall discuss next.
An alkaline breakfast is simply one where you include a reasonable amount of fruit and vegetables. This is not to suggest that these are the only food types that you can eat. But they should certainly make up the bulk of your breakfast. The point is not about rationing. In fact you get a bigger alkalizing boost the more fruit and vegetables you consume.
So to be quite honest, it is a good idea if you use a juicing appliance to help you increase the quantity of fruit and vegetable nutrition in your breakfast. The fact of the matter is that the alkaline diet is all about getting lots of nutrients from fruit and vegetables. Everyone knows that this is good for health.
What the alkaline diet suggests is that the minerals contained in these food stuffs produce an alkalizing effect on the human body. This is good because it helps to counteract the acidic state that our bodies are in these days. This has come about due to all the acidic foods that are consumed as part of typical diets in the West these days. Eating more alkaline foods helps us to balance things out.
Why I Love Juicer Recipes
Posted by GuestPoster in food on December 1st, 2010
Sometimes fruit becomes too ripe before I get the chance to eat it so I find the next best thing is to throw it in my juicer simply because I don’t like waste. Another great thing about doing this is occasionally I will manage to concoct my own healthy juicer recipe (but I nearly always forget to write them down).
I always thought that the best juicer recipes contained only fruit but after some research I quickly realised that vegetables make equally nice drinks as well. Up until recently I never really considered looking for recipes on the internet but I am delighted that I took the time to look because it’s opened up a whole new world for me and my juicer.
There are all kinds of benefits provided by liquidised fruit and vegetables but here are five parts of the body that effected by it:
- Skin
- Joints
- Kidneys
- Liver and
- Heart
Other than helping the above there can be a large amount of antioxidants in juiced fruit and veg which can help slow the signs of ageing.
Drinking liquidised fruit and vegetables can be an excellent source of vitamins and minerals. It could also be viewed as concentrated doses because when you start to look at healthy juicer recipes you will see that many ask for multiples of one fruit, for example five bananas. You probably wouldn’t normally eat five bananas in one day but this is an excellent way to get large amounts of fruit with very little effort. The other benefit is that the nutrients will be in your system within 30 minutes because it’s in liquid form and your body doesn’t have to break it down.
If you are accustomed to using a juicer then I would thoroughly recommend having a look on the internet for new juicer recipes because I can almost guarantee that there is something the will suite your tastes. However if you don’t own one then you should go and treat yourself. Not only can you make some delicious drinks but you can help to improve your health as well.

Juicing…with a Blender?
Posted by admin in Health & Fitness on July 30th, 2009
For those that are afraid to invest a lot of money in a new juicer, a blender provides for a possible alternative. While it will never compare to the capabilities of a juicer, a blender has many other functions, including getting raw foods into your diet.
First of all, blenders are more mainstream. Most likely you have one already. If not, you can get a good blender for as low as $25. Not bad at all!
You can make your juicer recipes by blending raw foods to make a puree, which you can add liquid for the desired consistency. Doing this provides an important advantage over a juicer – by blending the whole fruit, you get ALL the nutrients, because you are not discarding the pulp (although you can just eat the pulp after juicing too!) You can also get much use out of your blender, including making sauces, smoothies, and slushies.
Blending does have some functionality in a raw food diet. It can never take the role of a juicer, but if you’ve ever been intrigued in juicing, use your blender to get a taste what it’s like. If you are satisfied, go buy a real juicer and start indulging in easy juicer recipes!
High Quality Juicer Makes A Difference
Posted by admin in Health & Fitness on July 20th, 2009
The second half of ensuring your juicer recipes result in quality juice is the quality of the juicer itself. Using fresh and organic fruits and vegetables can only take you so far. It will keep out the toxins that are detrimental to your health but the effectiveness of the nutrients and enzymes contained in the juice depends on the juicers ability to liquefy the produce.
A good juicer should operate at as slow a speed as possible. This is to ensure that there is minimal heat generated by the blades which otherwise would partially cook the ingredients. Any food suffers from alterations to its chemical composition when cooked with heat to varying degrees and juice is no exception. The nutrients and minerals could also suffer from impact shock that would also alter the chemical structure and thus reducing the health benefits that would have been gained if those vital nutrients were in its natural state. The bottom line is that you want a good juicer that does not alter the juice and all the health benefits that come with it consuming highly concentrated vitamins, minerals, and enzymes.
