Unfortunately, time has just been so tight of late and you haven’t been able to fit in time to talk to your auto insurance company to obtain comprehensive coverage. But, a tree branch just decided it was a nice day to fall off of its founder and now your car has a broken front windshield and quite a huge dent on your hood. This is a perfect time to make a call to your insurance company and get the comprehensive coverage that you “needed” before this incident.

However, because you are a genius, several days later you decide to call the auto insurance company claiming that the real event that happened a few days ago actually happened today. However, you’ve already made calls to auto repair shops to get an estimate on the costs of repairs for hood damage and windshield replacement. Automatically, your car insurance company and Special Investigation Unit know that you are filing a false claim, and you are going to face the consequences at a minimum of a denial of claim all the way up to jail time depending on certain circumstances. GPS-based System Insurance

Progressive Insurance took a huge step in the auto insurance industry in attempt to not only help customers save money, but keep an eye on the actions of an insured driver’s vehicle. This system began in 1998 as a pilot process in Texas, in which drivers that installed or had a GPS-based device in their vehicle that could track their driving behavior with the results being communicated to the company through a cell phone.

However, the system caused problems as the policyholders were upset about having to pay such a steep price to invest into a GPS-device to acquire the savings as well as the privacy concerns that came along with it. Customers did not like the idea that their insurance company was knowledgeable of their driving behavior without consulting with the customer themselves. The program was ultimately a failure, and was discounted in 2000. Take a look at Arlington Auto Insurance Guide and find out more information about auto insurance.
