Alarm Monitoring – You Home’s Best Line of Defense
Posted by GuestPoster in Home and Furnishings on January 25th, 2011
Having your home broken into can bring both headache and heartache when your priceless possessions have been stolen and the security of your home breached. Having an alarm system installed and monitored by security professionals can potentially prevent this fate and act as a line of defense.
Many people who live in “good” neighborhoods tend to think that it could never happen to them, that because of where they live, they are safe from becoming victims, but as crime rates continue to rise, no home is completely safe. It is no longer safe to leave your doors and windows unlocked as many of our parents and grandparents once did. Home security is becoming a necessity.
Before deciding on which home security providers you will work with. Make sure to check their background and ensure that they have the proper training and experience to be able to provide the service you expect. Look into their contract pricing and conditions, monitoring fees, installation fees, and other stipulations before deciding on the best company for you.
Reading online reviews of potential security providers is a great way to assess your options and narrow down your list of potential security companies. Also, get recommendations from family, friends, and neighbors and learn about their experiences with their alarm monitoring companies. Find the company who can best meet your home security needs.
Do it yourself home security systems are gaining in popularity as a cheaper alternative to hiring professionals, but many of these systems do not allow for alarm monitoring capabilities. Stand-alone or audible-only alarms are an option if a monthly alarm monitoring fee is not within your budget, but alarm monitoring will provide the best line of defense for your home and family. You can have peace of mind knowing that your security company is watching over you at all times.
The Good Thing About Key Safes
Posted by admin in Home and Furnishings on October 29th, 2009
I just bought myself a new key safe for my home due to a very silly little problem I encountered with the first device I had, I forgot the combination. A bit of a silly situation to get into I’m sure you will agree. I had to get my tools out, remove the box from the wall where it was situated and break into it. The only good thing about the situation was that I found out just how strong these key safes really are, it took me a full 30 minutes to break into the safe with all my tools at my disposal.
What it does is re-enforce the belief that these things will really work to keep a thief out of my property. I mean if it takes me 30 minutes to get into the box it just goes to prove that a burglar would be better just breaking into my house itself than spend time trying to get into the key safe and then using the key to walk in the front door.
Home Security – Wireless Alarms
Posted by admin in Comp & Tech, Home and Furnishings on October 18th, 2009
One of the most popular home security systems available today are the wireless burglar alarms. Offering the same benefits of older wired alarms, these systems use newer technology that is easily installed and requires no wires. An infrared light source is aimed to a detector. Any time the light beam is broken, the alarm is triggered. These lights take the place of the foil strips that used to surround windows of homes with security systems. They have proven to be very effective in monitoring homes.
The system can be combined with WiFi in order to make an even better wireless system. WiFi allows for easy expansion of the system so that very large areas such as industrial plants can be protected by wireless security systems.
Fake security
Posted by admin in Technology on June 12th, 2009
I have found out about home security and surveillance just about a month ago. The first thing that I looked for was outdoor dummy security cameras because they would look like they are surveilling the house but cost just a little. The most ridiculous thing is that they don’t usually even have any wires coming out from them. Someone who is thinking of breaking and entering your house is not going to do so when he sees that you have security in your house. But you will be laughing inside because you only spent twenty bucks for some fake cameras that were designed to give the false appearance of security. Next time I am getting some real security since I am an art collector and I have an expensive collection.
