Cinemas in a box
Posted by admin in Comp & Tech on October 14th, 2009
Many people would like to enjoy the a cinema experience in the privacy of their own homes, but really don’t know where to start when it comes down to putting together a home cinema. There are speakers, amps, DVD players and a plethora of other bits of kit to think about when assembling a home cinema system and it can become very confusing. Image if that confusion could be taken out of the equation and it all came together as kit. Guess what! It does, many electronics manufacturers are now offering home entertainment systems that are complete kits containing everything you need to be able to experience the cinema in your home. Speakers, amplifier and source all in one box, perfectly matched and ready to go.
5.1 speaker systems

People enjoy watching movies for all sorts of reason. I enjoy watching movies just to get engrossed in and switch off from every day life. Going to the movies seemed to be the only way to get that total encapsulating feeling, that was until I bought my self a good 5.1 speaker system. Getting a surround system for my living room was one of the best – and most used – purchases I ever made. With the amount of movies I watch the initial investment has already been paid off two or three fold. I can now relax and experience cinema like surround sound with thundering bass and tinkling treble as if I’m in the movies. It’s great and if you also enjoy movies I could recommend getting your self a good set of speakers enough.
HD Projector Technology
Posted by admin in Home and Garden on May 15th, 2009
There are essentially two main types of HD projector. The first type of HD projector is the LCD projector. These are essentially based upon a type of technology that has been around for a number of years. Indeed for a number of years these is was the only type of HD projector that you were able to buy. Without going into too much detail the light from the lamp passes through red green and blue LCD panels in order to create the picture before being projected on to the screen. The main problem with this type of technology that it had reached a point where it had become as small as it was possible to make it. Unfortunately this still resulted in relatively bulky units with complicated electrical components within.
It was a relief therefore when Texas Instruments created a new type of HD projector, the DLP projector which by-passed the issues that dogged the LCD projectors. The DLP HD projectors now tend to comprise the high end of the products available in the market as they provide the best quality and most stable image.
