So many of the futon covers from years ago were simply solid colors and came in cotton.  That was pretty much all you could get.  It was like buying jeans in the 1950s – would you like dark denim or dark denim?  Now, there are literally hundreds of jean styles to choose from.  The same has happened with interior upholstery.

The fabrics that used to be reserved for only interior decorators or private individuals has been available to the public for several years.  The types of material you can get as futon covers are the same ones you would find for other sofas, chairs or even draperies.  The only difference is that the cover for your futon is likely going to be relatively inexpensive.  The demand and availability has made the costs come down to a level that you can probably buy several.  Then, you can just change your futon slipcover when ever you feel like it.
