While many people might be thinking of kitchen cabinet doors when you talk about kitchen doors, some think about the entrance into the kitchen that connects it to other rooms in your home. The most common choice for a kitchen door is one that can swing open and shut. The reason for the swinging door is that many times when you are using that door your hands will be full of food or dirty dishes. You do not want to be concerned about door handles when that is the case. There are two types of swinging doors. The first is a single door on hinges to one side or the other. These doors are quite heavy and can swing back too quickly causing the person walking through to lose their balance or be hit by the closing door. The other is a set of swinging doors that meet in the middle. This style is reminiscent of the old west and a saloon. These doors are not as heavy because the typically only cover about half of the open doorway.
