Canon Pixma ip4600: Looking Into Its Advantages and Disadvantages
Posted by GuestPoster in Comp & Tech on May 26th, 2010
Replacing the Canon Pixma ip4500 is the ip4600, a cheaper yet equally reliable printer. This printer is ideal for home office and business use given its practical applications. However, like any other equipment, there are significant advantages and disadvantages of this printer.
The Canon Pixma ip4600 is an inkjet printer that weighs 12.3 pounds and has dimensions of 17 inches width, 11.7 inches depth, and 6 inches height. It makes use of Canon’s FINE print inkjet technology, just as with other printers in the Pixma series.
First, let us talk about the advantages of this printer. The printer is good enough to produce clear, brilliant photos in such a short time. It can print up to 26 monochrome pages in one minute, while 26 colored pages are done during the same time frame. The black text are considerably clear and crisp, while the colored graphics or pictures are almost similar to those printed in more expensive, professional printers.
The printer is quite inexpensive compared to other inkjet printers in the market. Even better, the five-ink tank system means cost savings. One can swap the ink tanks including the print head to minimize running costs.
However, Canon Pixma ip4600 printer has its own share of negatives. For instance, there is the glaring lack of extras. There are no added features like scanning and photocopying, so those who are on the lookout for a versatile printing device may be turned off with this model. There are also no provisions for memory cards, although the printer makes up for its PictBridge feature. Additionally, the ip4600 does not have a wireless capability like most of the new models available in the market.
Despite these glaring miscues, Canon still made a pretty good upgrade for its Pixma series with this printer. Cheap and simple, the Pixma ip4600 is recommended for those in need of basic printing whether for business or photography requirements.
