Not much thought needs to go into maintaining regular doors. I’ve been using mine for years and have never done anything special to them. But if you have sliding glass doors, then you’ll know by now, or you will in short order, that you have to give thought to the maintenance of them.

What tends to happen with sliding glass doors, is that they stop sliding easily after a while. This is especially so if these doors act as a barrier between the inside and outside of your house.  Debris from outside, such as stray leaves, and dirt, settle into the tracks, build up, and inevitable prevent the smooth glide you used to enjoy. There are other reasons too that will cause the sliding to deteriorate.  When you are faced with this problem, or better  yet, before it gets that bad, you will want to do some maintenance.
