Can Popping Zits Kill You?

It’s certainly a long shot, but popping pimples can kill you.

The idea behind this rumor is that most people don’t bother to clean and sanitize their hands, face, and tools when they pop their zits and this leads to severe infections.  Your face is like a magnet for infection, especially if you live with your significant other and sleep in the same bed.  Not sanitizing your face after popping a zit is like asking for something bad to happen!

To prevent this from happening wash your face first, then wash your hands, spend a few minutes sterilizing any tools you’re going to use with rubbing alcohol, and after the zit has been popped clean it with hydrogen peroxide.  Obviously, this is going to take a lot more time than how you’re doing it now but it will either prevent infection or prevent you from popping it in the first place!

Acne Skin Care Products

Before we discuss acne skin care products, let us give a few defining points on what acne is and how do we get it. Ace, also known in different names like zits and pimples, is an annoying skin problem commonly developing to women with hormonal imbalance. Women usually experience acne in occasions of pregnancy, menstrual cycles, and puberty. Acne can take weeks, months, years, or even a lifetime (especially if this is hereditary) before it can be treated. The sad part about this is that some cases of acne leave their marks; the happy part is that scars or blemishes caused by acnes can be treated with special acne care products and other pimple products designed to cure it and prevent it from coming back. Acne appears commonly on the face, but it can grow on the neck, chest, back, and shoulders – the areas with the largest number of oil glands. Acne forms when there is overproduction of sebum’s combined with irregular shedding of dead skin cells that irritates hair follicles and when dirt (bacteria) builds up. Contrary to popular belief, which is wrong, what we eat has little or no effect on developing acne. It is not a serious medical condition. But if a zit gets irritated and worsens, you may require professional treatment from a dermatologist. Preventing or curing acne is not at all hard, wash your face twice daily and use products intended for acne care.

Laser Scar Removal

Laser scar removal is a common method for treating acne scars and other major scarring around the body, as well as tattoo removal.  If the first things that come to mind when you think of lasers is Moonraker, the Death Star, and G.I. Joe you could not be farther from reality.  The laser is actually encased in a (magic) wand that is passed over the affected areas of your skin.  The doctor will “paint” the scarred areas to stimulate the collagen production under the skin to replace scars with new skin.  Depending on the severity of the scarring, it may take multiple sessions to remove all of them.  The healing is fairly quick, but many patients report a major acne break out within a week of treatment.

Home Acne Treatments: A Few Tips

If you are an acne sufferer then I have great news for you; you do not have to spend a ton of money in order to cure your acne, because there are many home treatment for acne around. Among the most popular are preventative techniques, which include washing your face, changing your diet, and using over-the-counter treatments.

The sad truth is that everyone does not put a lot of focus on keeping their face clean, in fact there are many people who do not even wash their face, if you are one of these people just hang with me. You need to wash your face two or three times every day with a non-soap facial cleanser.

Changing your diet is secondary, but important. Basically, you need to stop eating foods that contain a lot of oil. This will limit the amount of oil that your skin secretes.

Last, you should consider using a over-the-counter acne treatment. My favorite is anything with peroxide, I like it because it cleans your pores and kills bacteria at the same time.
