I was at work today and some of my coworkers were talking about how their daughters were getting older and starting to like boys. They are worried that they will like those boys a little too much. The thing is you really don’t have that much control over what a teenager is going to do. I think it is better for them to tell the truth a not be penalized rather than lie and you never know their tribulations. This is difficult to do as a parent. It may do some good to buy your daughter an eternity rings and explain that it symbolizes her commitment to herself. May be making it too much about sex is a mistake and it should rather be about always being true to her believes and never giving in to someone just because that is what they want. I think it is important to talk to your children because all of it is new and embarrassing to them. They don’t understand why they have the feelings they have and what they mean. Telling them that their feelings are bad just doesn’t seem to be the solution. The ring could be a symbol of strength and independence that could end up being passed on to her daughter with the same communication and understanding.
