Foot Massage Therapy

The Chinese knew what they were doing over 5,000 years ago when they discovered how relaxing a foot massage can be. It’s easy to treat yourself to a foot massage every day at home in just a few minutes. It’s best to begin by sitting down, making yourself comfortable and soaking your foot in a tub filled three fourths of the way with warm water. One foot at a time, lift one out of the water and use a little bit of massage oil to rub your feet with. Rub the oil into your foot from your ankles to the ends of your toes. Using a light circular motion, rub the sole of your foot pressing in lightly with your thumb or fingertips. Rub the side of each foot up to your ankles and work your way to your toes. Pay attention to each toe working your way from the smallest to the biggest. Put both of your feet back into the tub of water for a few minutes when you’re finished with your foot massage.

We’re on our feet for most of the day. A great way to unwind at the end of a stressful day is to give yourself a relaxing foot massage at home. Get a tub and fill it with warm water. Sit down and place your feet into the tub for a few minutes enjoying the warmth. When you’re ready, pull one foot out and work some gentle massage oil into it lightly. Using a circular motion, rub the bottom of your foot pressing in lightly with your fingertips and thumbs. Work your way around the side of your foot, your heel and your ankles. Work your way down to your toes giving each toe a light massage from your smallest to biggest toe.  When you’re done massaging each foot, you can place your feet back into the tub of warm water for a few minutes more of ultimate relaxation.
