Learning about Shisha and the Hookah

I have a very good friend who is very ignorant on, well, a lot of subjects. She was born and raised in a very conservative family and community. While I love her to death, I feel that there are some subjects in which she really should be informed. It’s not that I want to destroy her innocence; I just feel that if she is going to raise a family in this world, then she needs to know what is out there. She is willing to learn, and so our conversations get pretty detailed sometimes.
Yesterday, we had a very long discussion on hookahs and what they are used for. The poor girl had never heard of them before, but it didn’t take me long to educate her on the subject! Hookahs are devices for smoking a specific type of tobacco called shisha. The hookah is a fairly simple instrument. There are two bowls, one stacked on top of the other. The top bowl is where the tobacco is burned, and it is connected to the lower bowl by a pipe. The bottom bowl is partially filled with water, and the end of the pipe is below the water level in this bowl. This bowl also has a hose attached to it, near the top, well above the water line in the bowl.
The shisha is burned in the top of the hookah, and then the smoke is forced down the pipe and through the water in the bottom bowl. The smoke then travels to the top of the bowl, where it is inhaled through the hose. Smoking from a hookah has become a social event for most people. Many people will have hookah parties, all smoking the same shisha from the same hookah. There are even hookah bars in which smokers can gather to enjoy fine cuisine as they smoke. You see, the hookah is unique as a smoking device because of the way it works. The smoke is cooled before it reaches the smoker, which means that the smoke is somewhat refined. There isn’t a gritty flavor associated with it. (This is also why shisha is sold in so many different flavors; the taste of the smoke actually comes through when being smoked in a hookah.)
Because there is no gritty flavor, the smoke can enhance the flavor of the food during the meal. Oftentimes, there are particular flavor pairings between the shisha and the meal, similarly to what is done with wine. You can find hookah in blueberry, cherry and other exotic flavors if you know where to look. There are some people who believe that hookahs are safer than traditional cigarette or cigar smoking. Most people think this because the smoke is filtered through the water and because it doesn’t inhibit food consumption. However, smoking of any sort isn’t good for you. The good news is that hookahs are no more dangerous than traditional smoking.
I respect the right of all people to choose for themselves when it comes to smoking; however, I think that people should be well informed of all of the risks they are taking. My friend seemed to understand most of what I was saying to her about the hookah. There are many different hookah products out there on the market and even more different types of shisha. While I don’t think that my friend is concerned about hookahs now, I do think that once her children get a little bit older she will talk to them about the positives and negatives of smoking and let them decide for themselves. After all, life is all about making choices.

A Pocket Full of Lines

My confidence has never been better. Right now it is pretty safe to say that it is at an all time high. And it is not just about anything specific, it is a general confidence that stems from my belief that I can do anything that I want, if I only set my mind to it long enough and focus properly. Of course, even though it is a general kind of confidence. I am still going to utilize it in one are of my life that I still consider to be unfulfilled. I am actually talking about my love life here, and I am about to take charge of it in a way that I know should yield positive results.
Whatever happened for me to suddenly become this confident, you might ask? Nothing special happened, really, just a realization that if I do not act now then it might as well be too late. And on top of that, the girl that I have always admired is now closer to me than ever, and so I might finally be able to make use of the romantic lines that I have been stocking up on. I got most of the lines tat I plan on using from the Internet, although I have also come up with a few that are of my own creation.
I am perfectly aware that some of those lines are considered a little too cheesy to still be used, but I believe that you use it properly enough and with the right timing, then it could still be effective. And I am also hoping that the romantic pick up lines that I selected are the kind that would be appreciated by the girl of my dreams. So in a sense, I am stuffing my pocket full of those lines, hoping it would do the trick. I am not completely putting all my hopes on mere lines though, as I am intent on partnering it with some serious effort on my part to get closer to her. Hopefully, it would all be enough to win her.
