Obtaining Quality 5.1 Speakers

5.1 Speakers are great for home theaters, cinemas, video gaming, music, and just about any audio experience in which high quality sound is required. While they are not the cheapest option in audio, they do produce higher quality sound in general than 4.1 or 3.1 speakers, ensuring a better experience for the user. Types of 5.1 speakers include: bose, creative, altec lansing, sony, etc. Most big name companies can be sure to provide you with high quality products. Prices of 5.1 speaker systems range from about fifty dollars to thousands of dollars, based on what brand name is bought and the quality to expect.

5.1 Speakers actually include six speakers: one subwoofer, a left front speaker, a center front speaker, and right front speaker, a left rear speaker, and a right rear speaker. All but the subwoofer are commonly referred to as “satellites” because they are generally placed around the subwoofer. The subwoofer produces the deeper, bass-like sounds while the satellites produce most other sound. The subwoofer is often used to augment the other loud speakers, because they often cannot produce such low, deep sounds like that of the subwoofer.

5.1 Speakers are commonly used in home theaters because they create an “immersing” feeling in the user. While watching a movie or listening to music, the user gets sound from almost every direction, producing a pleasant experience and feel.

5.1 Speaker systems can generally be bought at most places that sell electronics and computer hardware. Some vendors include: best buy, ebay, amazon, newegg.com. After a choice has been made on which speakers to buy, it is highly recommended for you to look at several sources to see which vendor sells the products cheaper. If this step is skipped in the buying process, the buyer often spends much more money than he/she should have. Good luck and I hope you find the right speakers for your home.

How Do BlackBerry Car Chargers Work?

BlackBerry car chargers are a pretty simple way to charge your BlackBerry while you’re traveling, be it to work and back, or on a long road trip.

These devices are easy to use and prett straitforward.  On one end, you have a plug that you insert into your cigarette lighter.  On the other end, you have a mini usb port.  This is the part that you plug into your BlackBerry.  Once you’ve connected the two, your BlackBerry will start to charge.

There is a bit of variety in terms of what kind of cord you can get.  Most BlackBerry car chargers are made with a traditional curly telephone cord.  However, there are some models of car chargers that are made with a straight, retractable cord instead.

That’s basically all there is to these chargers.  And yes, you can continue to use your BlackBerry, even while it’s charging.

Comparing Dish vs. Direct TV

One of the great debates that has raged over the past 15 years is the Dish Network vs. Direct TV debate.  For quite some time, Dish Network was the largest satellite TV company in America, probably due to the head start they had in deploying small satellite dish units to the American consumer.  But Direct TV fought long and hard, and with assistance from the NFL Sunday Ticket package, they overtook Dish and remain the largest satellite TV company.  In fact you may be surprised to find out that Direct TV now has 18 million subscribers and they are gaining on the biggest pay TV company in America, Comcast.  Analysts now predict Direct TV may be the largest pay television company in America as soon as the year 2012.

Voip Phone Installation Magic Jack

Installing your Magic Jack voip phone is very easy.  All it takes is to plug the dongle device into a usb port on your computer or into an external a/c powered usb hub.  Once you do this a download will start automatically and install itself on your computer.  During the download  you will need to enter which area code you would like to use, your email address and your physical address.  This download installs a softphone screen on your desktop that will always be there.  You can make phone calls using the softphone screen or by using the telephone that you will be using for this program.  Once the installation is finished it is time to plug a phone cord into the device and into the phone you are using.  Within minutes of getting your new voip phone you can be making and receiving calls.

Fake security

I have found out about home security and surveillance just about a month ago. The first thing that I looked for was outdoor dummy security cameras because they would look like they are surveilling the house but cost just a little. The most ridiculous thing is that they don’t usually even have any wires coming out from them. Someone who is thinking of breaking and entering your house is not going to do so when he sees that you have security in your house. But you will be laughing inside because you only spent twenty bucks for some fake cameras that were designed to give the false appearance of security. Next time I am getting some real security since I am an art collector and I have an expensive collection.

Brain Age for the Nintendo DS

For some reason, the first game that comes to mind whenever I think of the Nintendo DS console is Brain Age. This is probably because it was the first game I ever played on the system. The original Brain Age was released in April 2006 and the second version followed in August 2007. This game is probably more entertaining for adults than kids, but it has a ERSB rating for Everyone. My favorite thing about Brain Age is solving the Sudoku puzzles. The other puzzles and activities are fun, but after you do them a couple times, they become a bit repetitive and boring. It becomes more interesting once you start to compete against your family and friends. My least favorite thing about the game is the annoying professor that gives you instructions and tries to give you advice on how to improve your brain function. I could probably do without him but it doesn’t stop me from doing the puzzles on a daily basis. If you’re new to the Nintendo DS and are looking for a fun game to try this is a good place to start.

Automatic Dialers – How Telemarketers Operate

Automatic Dialers are software and hardware tools that telemarketers use to make their phone calls.  They want to spend time selling you stuff not calling a number, waiting for someone to pickup, dealing with fax numbers and answering machines.  So they have a machine that does all that stuff for them.  The really insidious ones are called predictive dialers.  They can keep track of how long agents are staying on the line, how many calls are being dropped etc.  Then their dialer software makes calls and sends them to telemarketers sitting idle.  Have you ever picked up the phone, said “hello” and had a 3 second silence?  That’s the autodialer software trying to decide if you’re human then sending it to an agent that is ready.  They don’t know who you are that’s why they have to ask “is this: ?, at such and such an address”.  That’s how automatic dialers waste your, and my time.
