Keeping Water Out of Your RC Boats

RC cars and planes cannot be exposed to water. Water will make them rust, and destroy their electrical and mechanical parts. However for RC boats, exposure to water is a mandatory thing. It would be a waste of a boat if it doesn’t get into the water, right? While other remote controlled vehicles are avoiding the water, these boats are made to be in it. Consequently, you would need to do some maintenance on your boats to keep them in great shape.
First, and probably most important, is to keep on making sure that the hull of your boat is properly sealed. One of the easiest ways for water to enter the hull of your boat is through the canopy. For this, you can make a gasket to keep the water and moisture from getting inside the hull and ruining your boat. Using a window sealant silicone is a popular option among hobby enthusiasts to keep the canopy sealed.
Another way for water to enter the hull of RC boats is through the output shaft tube. Occasionally inspect your prop shaft for wear and tear. Scuff marks inside the shaft would indicate excessive wear. For this purpose, you would need to apply cable grease inside you prop shaft. With this grease regularly applied, you would prevent water from entering the shaft, as well as lubricating it to reduce friction that causes wear and tear.
Getting water inside your boat is really bad if it gets to the electronics. As you well know, water and electronics do not mix at all, not even one bit. The parts of your boat with electronics come with other parts to keep the water out. However, for additional protection, you can use the same silicone sealant that you would use in sealing the canopy of your boat. Also, you can use the balloon trick for your receiver and electronic speed controller. This trick involves you getting the part, once attached, into a balloon and then sealing the balloon with a zip tie. It’s easy and inexpensive, and has been in use for a significant amount of time.
It’s required for RC boats be sealed properly so that they can function well for a long time. Water is corrosive in nature, and so could do damage to your boat’s exterior in the long run. However, it’s more important to make sure it doesn’t do any damage in the interior of the boat, as that would require much more extensive repair.

Chainsaws are great for kinds of purposes, as long as they’re in the hands of somebody who knows how to use them. I’ve used a chainsaw couple times. Once a work quite well for the task at hand which is chopping down old tree in the front yard. The other time was attributed top of a post a goal I was building in the backyard, in which case it was really just a bad idea. But, you really need to go too far into that. I love drinking tea but I wasn’t happy with the tea pot I had so I finally decided to search for one that had the qualities I thought were missing in my current one. I started looking in tea shops, department stores and online. I found myself drawn to cast iron tea pots. I like the look of many of them so that was part of the reason, but when I started looking at their features I was really sold.
Cast iron tea pots are nice because the heavy metal keeps your tea hot for a long time, more than any other tea pot I’ve seen. Many of them come with a nice mesh tea infuser and at least the one I bought pours nicely. The drawback is that they are really heavy and you want to take good care of it so you don’t crack the porcelain lining. But for me neither of these were big drawbacks. Then when you can’t stand the industry anymore start up a vacation restaurant on the beach, a little dancing, nice drinks, happier people.
