I need a place that is easy to get to, that looks nice, but not too nice, and has a conference room available to meet clients.
What you need the office for is also going to tell you a little bit about the size of the space you need and the configuration you need. Using my example, I have an assistant and me, so I don’t need much space. But, I’d like to have a little separation between the two of us so we can both talk on the phone at the same time and understand what the person on the other end of the line is saying.
Second, you need to think about price. What can you afford? What do you want to pay? Is that price range available for what you need? For a DUI attorney, my price point could vary widely depending on where I wanted to be. I know some attorneys that pay $5000 a month for rent, and I know some that pay $500. The offices look totally different, as you might expect, but they are both functional.
